Head priest of Chilkur temple advocates use of temple funds for only spiritual purposes

Head priest of Chilakur Devasthanam C.S. Rangarajan has strongly advocated the use of temple income exclusively for spiritual purposes.

Speaking to the media on Monday (March 24), Mr. Rangarajan expressed his disapproval of utilising temple funds for the laying and maintenance of roads and emphasised the need to allocate these resources for ensuring ‘dhoopa deepa and naivedhyam’ in the temples with limited income.

Expressing confidence that the TTD board, led by Chairman B.R. Naidu, would address the issue during its meeting on Monday (March 24) he said that he had come to the town to seek the blessings of the presiding deity Lord Venkateswara after having survived a vicious attack on his residence last month.
