Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Donald Trump for the first time since the latter took over as president of the United States for a second mandate.
During the conversation, both leaders discussed bilateral ties between the two greatest democracies and emphasized their shared commitment to work together for peace and global stability.
The two leaders exchanged points of view on urgent global issues, including the situation in Western Asia and Ukraine, and reiterated their commitment to work together to promote global peace.
Both leaders have agreed to remain in contact and meet soon at an early and convenient date, sources said.

Prime Minister Modi spoke for the last time with Trump on November 7 of last year, the day the Republican leader achieved a wide victory in the presidential elections of the United States.
Trump swore when the president happened to Joe Biden during a large opening event at the United States Capitol in Washington on January 20, which saw several dignitaries, including former presidents and multimillion -dollar businessmen.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated his “dear friend”, saying that he wanted New Delhi and Washington to work in close collaboration.

In particular, the Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar represented India at the Donald Trump opening event. Invited by the State of the United States, he brought a personal letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Trump.
Shortly after assuming the office, Trump signed a lot of executive orders aimed at reviewing the immigration of the United States and H1-B visas that allow companies to bring foreigners with specific qualifications to the United States.
India is among the largest sources of legal migration to the United States, but tens of thousands of Indians have also illegally entered the country in recent years by crossing Canadian and Mexican borders.
