New Delhi:
The Haryana Government will present a case against former Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on his comments claiming that the BJP government in Haryana has “poisoned” Yamuna’s water, Vipul Goyal Minister of State said Wednesday.
“Kejriwal has extended panic among the people of Haryana and Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal has given an irresponsible statement … There is no truth in these accusations. The government of Haryana will not save it,” said Mr. Goyal.
The state government sent the complaint and a case will be presented at the Judicial Journal Court (CJM) in Sonipat under disaster management sections, authorities said.
The head of the AAM AADMI party (AAP) made an explosive claim that said the BJP government in Haryana mixes “poison” in Yamuna’s water that supplies Delhi. The reference was to the high levels of ammonia, more than 700 times the allowed limit.
“The people of Delhi receive drinking water from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh … but the Haryana government has mixed poison in the water that arrives in Delhi from Yamuna and sent it here … it is only for the surveillance of our Delhi Jal Board engineers that stopped this water, “Kejriwal had said.
This position was collected and repeated by other leaders of the AAP, including Prime Minister Atishi, who criticized the BJP for “water terrorism” and wrote to the Electoral Commission and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena. In his letter, he demanded the action of the body of the survey against BJP.
In return, the electoral body asked Mr. Kejriwal to produce evidence of his claims at 8 pm today.
According to the Electoral Commission, Mr. Kejriwal’s claims are a “serious accusation” and could create among the states.
“Voters tend to believe what is said in public in public and in that sense, the statement, if not true, affect the discourse of the campaign. If it is true, this also has serious ramifications of creating enmity between regional groups, residents of neighbors states, threat of the situation of the law and order due to the real or perceived shortage of the lack of water availability, “said the commission.
Delhi Jal’s board reacts
Delhi Jal Board, that Mr. Kejriwal said he stopped the alleged “poison” water that reached the national capital, touched the affirmation of the AAP leader. “These statements are factically incorrect, without any base and misleading,” said the executive director of the Board of Delhi Jal (CEO) Shilpa Shinde in a letter to the main secretary.
He also urged the main secretary to call the matter to the attention of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi under the transaction of commercial rules.
“The matter is being drawn up, given the fact that such false statements lead to fear of city residents and also negatively impact relations with the upper riparian state of Haryana. Since this issue is likely to affect relations Interestatals, these facts can be called to the attention of Lieutenant Governor in terms of the transaction of the commercial rules, “said the letter.
PM Modi explodes AAP
Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the ‘War of Water of Yamuna’ on Wednesday and criticized the “unpleasant” position of Arvind Kejriwal.
“They asked for votes about Yamuna … but now they are being shameless about it. They want Delhi to supply for water. AAP has sinned by political profits. History will never forgive them … Delhi will never forgive them … Can the Haryana Government of BJP, poison the water that the prime minister drinks? “PM Modi said.
Stating that Haryana “will never forget the insinuations,” Modi said that declare the fear of defeat in the elections of next week’s assembly had made the AAP “unfold.”
“Are the people of Haryana live in Delhi? Can Haryana then poison Delhi’s water? Even the prime minister drinks this water,” said Prime Minister.
Several other BJP leaders, including Haryana Prime Minister Nayab Saini, also attacked Mr. Kejriwal.
