Cairo, Egypt:
Two Hamas officials accused Israel on Wednesday of delaying the delivery of vital humanitarian aid to Gaza, as agreed in the high fire agreement, and warned that it could affect the release of hostages.
“We warn that continuous delays and breach of these points (key aid delivery) will affect the natural progression of the agreement, including the exchange of prisoners,” said a senior Hamas official to the AFP, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Another official, who also speaks under anonymity, said the group had asked the mediators to intervene in the subject.
Hamas officials said Israel was not when sending key aid, such as fuel, campaign stores, heavy machinery and other teams, in the Gaza Strip, as agreed for for the first stage of the Alto El Fuego that entered into force the January 19.
“According to the agreement, these materials were supposed to enter during the first week of Alto El Fuego,” said Hamas’ senior official.
“There is dissatisfaction between the resistance factions due to the postponement of the occupation and the lack of implementation of the terms of the high fire, particularly with respect to the humanitarian aspects.”
The two officials said the group raised the problem during an ongoing meeting with Egyptian mediators in Cairo on Wednesday.
“We wait and ask the mediators and guarantors to do everything possible to ensure that the occupation implements the terms of the agreement and allows the entry of these materials,” said the senior official.
Hamas’ last warning occurs when the group Lance three hostages on Thursday, including two women.
Three other hostages will be launched on Saturday.
Israel and Hamas are implementing the first 42 -day phase of a high fire that aims to end the war in Gaza.
According to the agreement, seven Israeli hostages have already been released in exchange for 290 prisoners, almost all Palestinians, except a Jordanian.
