The Greek authorities have advised people on the Aegean island of Santorini to close schools on Monday, avoid two small ports and refrain from gathering in interior spaces after a greater seismic activity in the area during the last days.
A series of tremors were recorded until a magnitude of 4.3 on Friday and Saturday in the area between the Volcanic Island of Santorini and Amorgos, said the Ministry of Civil Protection in a statement on Saturday afternoon.
The Ministry said the activity was not linked to volcanic activity and that it retreated, but experts had proposed caution measures, including school closures on February 3. They also urged people not to access or remain in the small port of Ammoudi and the port of Fira de Fira. , which serves mainly cruises.
The earthquakes that measure between 2.8 and 4.5 hit the area on Sunday morning, according to the Geodynamic Institute of Athens, without causing damage. Greece is found in multiple failures, it is often shaken by earthquakes.
