Chicago (CBS) – Governor JB Pritzker is asking the Department of Central Management Services to reject those Forgiven by President Trump for his participation in the attacks of January 6 in the United States Capitol for consideration for state works.
In a letter addressed to director Ravenoughn, Pritzker says that those who participated in attacks violated the State Personnel Code.
“Therefore, I address CMS to apply the State Personnel Code and consider any participation in the insurrection of January 6 as an infamous and shameful behavior that is antithetical to the state mission,” the letter said.
Upon returning to office, Mr. Trump signed about 200 executive orders, including pardons to the defendants convicted of crimes derived from the January 6, 2021, attack In the Capitol.
Federal judges in Washington, DC, who presided over the cases, firmly opposed order.
