Retired IPS AB Venkateswara Rao
In a significant decision, the Andhra Pradesh government has regularized the suspension periods of the retired IPS Officer AB Venkateswara Rao, recognizing them as periods spent in service. The order is under rule 5 (b) (4) of the services of all India (discipline and appeal), 1969.
The decision ensures that it receives complete salaries and assignments for the two suspension spells from February 8, 2020 until February 7, 2022 and June 28, 2022 to May 30, 2024.
The main secretary K. Vijayanand issued a GO on Tuesday by regularizing the periods of suspension of Mr. Rao.
The measure restores the professional contributions of the officer during his service.
Mr. Rao retired on May 31, 2024, such as commissioner, printing, stationery and shopping stores.
Ysrcp’s previous government had placed it under suspension and gave no publication for the past five years.
Mr. Rao faced disciplinary procedures on alleged misconduct in the acquisition of security equipment, during his mandate as an additional general director, Intelligence.
Despite their suspension, the disciplinary actions were withdrawn after an order from the Supreme Court in April 2022. In the same way, its second suspension linked to a criminal case was revoked by the Central Administrative Court. The order was then confirmed by the Superior Court.
The Government confirmed that all assignments already paid as a subsistence during these periods would be adjusted. The general director of Police (DGP), Andhra Pradesh, had been aimed at implementing the order.
