Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been invited by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to a meeting at the White House on February 4.
Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to be invited to the White House during Trump’s second term, the Israeli prime minister’s office said Tuesday. The meeting occurs after the president of the United States repeatedly claimed credit for sealing a high fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which occurred after months of fruitless negotiations.
After the high fire entered into force, he promoted a plan to “clean” the Gaza Strip, asking the Palestinians to move to neighboring countries such as Egypt or Jordan. The idea has faced a strong violation of Egypt and Jordan, as well as European governments.
During his first term, Trump often said that Israel “never had a best friend in the White House”, a feeling often resonated by Netanyahu. However, the relationship between the two leaders was briefly attributed after the Israeli leader congratulated Joe Biden for his 2020 Victoria choice.
Trump, who falsely said having won the 2020 elections, accused Netanyahu of unfair, according to multiple media reports at that time. However, shortly after assuming the position for his second mandate, according to the reports, he approved a sending of 2,000 -pound bombs to Israel, which the Biden administration had previously arrested. Netanyahu praised Trump for providing Israel with the “tools” to defend himself.
