Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Tuesday said the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government’s proposed move to organise a meeting of Southern states on the delimitation of constituencies was to divert the attention of the people of Tamil Nadu from its “failures” and “corruption”.

In a brief interaction with journalists in Tiruchi, Mr. Shekhawat said Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his recent visit to Tamil Nadu, had clarified that the delimitation issue was being raked up just to divert the attention of the people of Tamil Nadu from the issues pertaining to life and development of the State. Mr. Shekhawat said the Tamil Nadu government was lying on the issue of delimitation of constituencies.
