This is not the first time that the authorities have taken energetic measures against food security violations. Recently, the Task Force of the Food Security Department of Telangana visited multiple establishments in the city for inspections. During their visit to the dairy units in Hyderabad, they discovered some worrying violations. In Durga’s dairy products in Sultan Bazar, the team found expired artificial flavor agents, such as 500 ml of vanilla and lemon flavors that had passed their expiration date since 2020. These products were immediately discarded.

The officials also noticed several hygiene problems, such as scarce ceilings, irregular floors and missing drains. Food manipulators did not wear hair hats, and the doors were not properly sealed to avoid pests. In addition, the Food Business Operator could not submit the health records of the required employees and the Food Safety Training and Certification Certificates (FOSTAC) for the personnel during the inspection.
