Prime Minister Athishi has managed to hold on to the Kalkaji seat in southern Delhi despite the massive victory of the BJP in the national capital and the surprise defeats of the leaders of the AAM AADMI party (AAP). The 43 -year -old leader, who won the seat in 2020, faced the former deputy of BJP, Ramesh Bidhuri and Alka Lamba of Congress.
Aluminus of the University of Oxford and an academic of Rhodes, Mrs. Atishi has worked a lot in the flagship of the AAP to review education in the Delhi schools before being elevated to the upper position. Atishi became Prime Minister after the leader of the AAP, Arvind Kejriwal, resigned after he obtained the bond in a case of corruption linked to the liquor policy now scrupulated in Delhi. When Mr. Kejriwal and his number 2 Manish Sisodia were behind bars, Atishi articulated the position of the party in events of the party and the interaction of the media. With the main leaders of AAP, Mr. Kejriwal and Mr. Sisodia losing the voting fight today, Mrs. Atishi will probably play a key role in the Assembly.
Five hours after counting, the BJP is scheduled for an integral victory in the national capital. He is currently leading in 47 seats and the AAP score is 23. Congress has pushed a blank space, completing a Ducks hat-trick since 2015.
Previously, Mrs. Atishi had expressed her confidence that AAP would win the Delgi elections. He had shattered the predictions of the output survey, which predicted a BJP victory, and claimed that they were part of a conspiracy to demoralize AAP workers.
This was a hard fight for Mrs. Atishi. While the former BJP deputy, Ramesh Bidhuri, had done everything possible to obtain a victory, it was expected that Alka Lamba of Congress divide the votes of the opposition and hurt AAP’s perspectives. As Prime Minister, Mrs. Atishi also needed to focus on the AAP campaign on other constituencies. This left her with a limited time to concentrate on Kalkaji. But she has achieved a victory despite the probabilities.
