Washington:
Asra Hussain Raza, daughter of Indian immigrants, was among 67 people killed in a tragic collision in the air between an army helicopter and a plane at Ronald Reagan National Airport in the United States, according to a media report.
The collision, the most fatal aviation disaster in the United States since 2001, occurred when the 5342 flight of American Airlines crashed with the Army helicopter when it approached the airport on Wednesday night.
Race, 26, was one of the various victims killed, said his father -in -law, Dr. Hashim Raza, CNN.
Daughter of Indian immigrants, race graduated with honors in 2020 from the University of Indiana and married her university girlfriend in August 2023, Hashim said.
Raza was a consultant with headquarters in Washington, DC, who traveled to Wichita twice a month to work on an response project for a hospital there, said his father -in -law.
She often called him at the end of the shifts of her late emergency room to make sure she was awake at home, she told CNN.
“She did everything possible for everyone,” said her father -in -law.
The Potomac accident husband said that his wife sent him a text message that was about to land, but when he arrived at the airport to pick it up, his life had changed forever.
“She said: ‘We are landing in 20 minutes,” said Hamaad Raza.
That was the last thing he heard from his wife.
“I was waiting and I began to see a lot of ems vehicles that accelerate beyond me, like too many, and two, my texts were not happening,” said Hamaad cited by NBCWashington.
“It’s fair, he feels crazy that it has happened to us, to be honest,” he said.
“I mean, it’s as if you see that these things happen in the news, you see them that happen in other countries. And then, I present myself to the airport, and my wife does not respond, and I look on Twitter and see that she is her. Flight. ” He said he has been surrounded by loved ones who are devastated by the tragic and unexpected loss.
