American legislators presented a bill to prohibit the Chinese artificial intelligence program that is deeply used in government devices about concerns about the safety of user data.
Representative Josh Gottheimer, a New Jersey Democrat, presented the bill along with Darin Lahood, a republican from Illinois, citing an “alarming threat to the national security of the United States” and the warning of “direct ties” between Deepseek and the Chinese government.
The bill is produced after a Feroot Security Wednesday report, an American cyber security firm, discovered that the AI model contains a hidden code capable of transmitting user data to China Mobile, a state telecommunications firm.
The Chinese startup Deekseek shocked the world -month’s world industry with the launch of its low -quality and high quality chatbot, which shook the leadership that the United States and other countries had in the current race to develop technology.
“The Chinese Communist Party has made it clear that any tool will explode at your disposal to undermine our national security, throw harmful misinformation and collect data on Americans,” Gottheimer said in a statement.
Lahood, calling Deepseek a “company affiliated with PCCH”, said that “under no circumstances” can afford “to obtain data from the government or confidential personnel.”
The legislation in the House of Representatives occurs when the Ministries and the South Korean police said they were blocking Depseek’s access to their computers, after the company did not respond to a request for data gifts on how it manages the information of the user.
Australia has also banned Deepseek of all government devices on the Council of Security Agencies, while France and Italy have expressed concerns about Deepseek’s data.
Separately, the Video Video Exchange application faces a Law of the United States that orders the company to deviate from its Chinese owner bytete or is prohibited in the United States.
