For a state that has a solid position against competitive exams, because they are loaded against disadvantaged groups, Tamil Nadu is home to a prosperous training industry. There are training centers for a wide range of exams, including professional titles such as MBBS, Engineering and Management, in addition to civil services, state government positions and teachers recruitment.

After the National Elder-Cum-Ingreso (Neet) test was mandatory in 2018 and the attempts of the Tamil Nadu government that the state of its reach fails, the government began free training sessions so that the students of the students of the Government school help them sit the medical entry test. For several years, the State has been offering training to decipher the joint engineering exam (JEE), the entrance door to the Technology Institutes of India (IIT) and other engineering institutions financed by the central government. The state government also directs programs for the exams of the Public Service Commission of the Union (UPSC), putting into account the cost of approach and accommodation for those who have described in the preliminary round. The training centers for exams to other professional courses, such as chatted accounting, have been made in fungi. However, the state government has no data on the number of these centers or students enrolled in it.

The anecdotal evidence of parents and students shows that they are not reluctant to take personal loans to pay additional training if they ensure that students obtain a coveted seat in a professional course. But there are also disappointments. Recently, Fiit Jee Coaching Institute students took to the streets of eastern Delhi claiming that the teachers had moved to a competitor during the night, leaving them in the stake. A video on social networks cited an old Fiit Jee announcement that gave teachers the safe hours of students and, therefore, salaries.

Many years ago, Eduteech platforms online took the front education, offering attractive packages for students. Its importance grew during the Covid-19 pandemic, but most have disappeared since then. Many subscribers of these platforms feel deceived. A housewife in Touchi remembers that when his son enrolled in a four -year package of class VII in Byju’s, he felt more attracted to his offer of a free tablet than real training. “During the first two years, they maintained their promise, with attractive video lessons and a tutor to personally monitor my son’s progress. But when he reached class X, all learning materials had become electronic books and there were no teachers to clarify doubts, ”she says. She had paid ₹ 40,000, hoping to prepare it for an engineering career, but finally selected the trade transmission, since it was not properly tutulated in central mathematics during the blockage period, she says.

Attractive terms

Applicants can join the well -known private training centers for Neet and JEE through talent tests nationwide. Good scores mean a scholarship. A Chennai -based mother who has registered her son in a popular Net training center says she sat for the talent test in September. “We have registered it in a two -year integrated program for Neet. They teach the CBSE program, and costs around ₹ 2.5 Lakh. But if the score is good, you may have to pay less, maybe ₹ 1.5 to ₹ 2 Lakh, ”she says.

The Scholarship Test Curriculum is based on class X subjects. Students also take test drills on the websites of training institutes. Some online platforms that operate from northern India use Hindi to teach concepts. Renu*, a CA applicant, says he joined online training two years ago. While training for the course of the Foundation was in English, intermediate lessons are carried out in Hindi, a language with which it is not familiar. “The majority of students who attend the class online speak Hindi, so the teacher takes lessons in that language, with some explanations in English. In addition to accounting, I have collected Hindi, ”she says.

She is preparing for two intermediate documents through two separate online institutes, paying more than ₹ 6,000 for each topic. “I decided not to take the consolidated package, which cost ₹ 60,000 for all subjects, since I want to study each through multiple registration sources,” she says.

His father said that exposure to online education during closing helped Renu, who was easy to understand the subjects covered in ca. He scanned videos in the reviews of YouTube and pairs users before deciding on online training. “Many professional public accountants are also doing online courses, so students are exposed to the subjects of those in the field of all India,” he says.

Pastive Masters Hunting

The competition between coaching centers is from Feroat. The problem at Fiit Jee in Delhi was that the teachers had moved to a competitor and the students were asked to inform the new training center. It is normal for teachers to move to a training center that offers higher wages and better advantages, it says privileged information. “Faculty [members] They generally have the contact data of their students. When they change the base, they report their students who automatically follow teachers. “

Ankur Jain, director of Fiit Jee academics in Chennai, says that 250 to 300 students of the 1,000 students from the Tamil Nadu centers enter IIT every year. Fiit Jee directs off -line centers in Chennai and Coimbatore and the courses continue to be offered, he says.

Last Thursday, Aakash Educational Services Limited announced in Chennai that it would begin 132 centers in the country. Deepak Mehrotra, managing director and Executive Director of Aakash, says that, according to a survey conducted last year and the “adverse incidents” reported by Kota, Aakash has decided to open centers in the cities of level 3 and 4.

“We are discovering that in the new centers, more girls join us. Second, Jee (Advanced) has changed, but the training system has not adapted to it. We have conceptualized Invictus and we have launched it in Tamil Nadu. The centers will be executed in Chennai, Tuchi, Coimbatore and Namakkal, ”says Mehrotra. In due time, a center will also be launched in Madurai. The new course has been developed by a cohort of 500 teachers with a “Student shipping story to the IIT”. The cohort has a history of sending more than 1 LAKH of students to the IIT, ”he says.

The future of the members of the Faculty is determined by the performance of their students in the Coaching centers, they say that the teachers in these centers. S. Srinivasan, a former teacher of a training center in Salem, says that in the Neet centers, the work of a teacher depends on the number of students qualifying in the exam. “To make more students qualify, we must find shortcuts for answers and train students performing regular tests. The centers also organize loans from private banks to pay training and loans must be paid in a year. Parents fight to pay loans. If a student does not qualify, his parents take another loan for another coaching round, ”he says.

For competitive exams such as TNPSC, retired school teachers are preferred. When training centers close, teachers opt for positions in private schools, despite the lowest wages. “They have more openings in the Salem district and teachers have no choice,” says Srinivasan.

Marketing

The registration of the Academy of the Crea Crea Academy, the correspondent of the Higher Secondary School, J. Christy Subhadra, says that the commercialization of education is also affecting children in government schools. As the school has no links with popular training institutes, some parents have sponsored nearby private registration centers. “Senior class students go there after school, study until 11 pm and return for regular classes in the morning,” she says.

A private tutor who offers classes for a small group of students in Touchi says that some of their students are deprived of sleep and cannot concentrate. A Government’s neet instructor in Madurai says that although the government offers free coaching in government schools and dedicated centers, many students stay away. “Parents who can pay the rates enroll their rooms in private classes, but it is sad to see even parents with a bad expense capacity to borrow to pay private class rates,” she says. The Educational Activist S. Umamahwari says that the middle class that strives to achieve the next level of education is the objective of private training centers. “Many great people who admire for their success in several fields are those who did not get trapped in these educational markets,” he says.

In Coimbatore, the profile of parents who spend more than ₹ 1 Lakh for one year training indicates that private training for Neet and Jee is essentially for students of the upper middle class and aristocratic social groups. These parents do not complain about cost, since quality training is all they are looking for. Since coaching centers also offer monthly delivery options (EMI), they also adapt to salaried people. The training centers pay a lucrative remuneration to the experienced members of the faculty that come from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where the approval percentage has always been high. Harikrishnan, a member of the Faculty of the Training Center, says that a large part of the students of the centers administered by established players are neighborhoods of industrialists and information technology professionals. The cost of registration is much lower in the centers administered by the members of the faculty of local universities, he says.

Ajay, whose daughter undergoes a NET training in an established center on weekends, says that CBSE transmission students have an advantage over their counterparts to deal with the rigorous training and demanding exam schedules. While some CBSE schools offer training beyond school hours for Neet and Jee, there are some parents who let their rooms complete the XII class and then send them for full time training/jee to avoid stress to avoid stress.

Veranda Learning Solutions, a relatively new player, trains students for CMA, CMA and government work. Praveen Menon, its marketing director, says that coaching helps candidates to understand negative marking systems. Several Lakh candidates request the few thousand government positions, he says.

The culture of fictitious schools found in northern India is slowly retaking in Tamil Nadu, laments the independent education consultant Jayaprakash Gandhi. “Income exams will make it difficult for low middle class students to compete. Today, the minimum cost is ₹ 40,000 and can rise to ₹ 3 Lakh. The National Testing Agency collected data on parents’ income and even asked if the student went to training centers. The agency must present these details about the public domain, ”he says. Training centers are not doing a service. “Look how they offer scholarships. They are taking advantage of the policy of ‘One Nation, One Exam’. A topper in a competitive exam is presented by three training centers. How is that possible? He asks. The solution lies in improving the school study program and reforming the exam system for class XII, he says.
