Celtic fans will be able to attend the second section of their play-off round of the Champions League, Bayern Munich’s draw after receiving a UEFA respite. The Scottish champions feared that the followers were prohibited after a green smoke pump was thrown into the field of visiting fans during Celtic’s 4-2 defeat in Aston Villa last month. Celtic had received a suspended prohibition from a match to sell tickets for travelers after a pyrotechnic exhibition in its 7-1 champions league by Borussia Dortmund in September.
However, they have escaped with a fine of 10,000 euros ($ 10,400, £ 8,340) for fireworks lighting and the launch of objects.
“As we had said previously, Celtic did everything possible to ensure that our fans could attend this party, and we are pleased that UEFA has considered our detailed presentation,” Celtic said in a statement.
“We can also confirm that the original suspended sentence remains in place, as a result of the previous use of pyrotechnics, more recently in the match against Borussia Dortmund, for a small minority of followers.
“Once again, we must make it very clear that pyrotechnics has absolutely any place in our parties and additional incidents should occur, then clearly, once again, there is an extremely high risk that our followers are not allowed access to future parties “.
