On January 28, the Kerala Cabinet decided to recommend to the governor to send Sherin’s sentence, the main accused in the case of murder of Bhaskara Karanavar.
Sherin, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his father -in -law on November 8, 2009, has turned 14 years in prison. The Cabinet Decision follows the recommendation of the Prison and Correctional Hogar Advisory Committee of Kannur’s Women’s Prison, as well as the opinion of the Department of Law.
Sherin, Karanavar’s wife, Binu, was convicted in the case along with three accomplices who were hired to kill the deceased, a return from the United States. The reason for the crime was linked to Karanavar’s decision to cancel a property that will have appointed Sherin as a beneficiary.
