Do you plan to start your physical conditioning and confused travel trip about what type of diet you want to consume? This is the question facing most beginners and, therefore, two identical twins were established to answer the question. Hugo and Ross Turner, 36, professional adventures who live in the United Kingdom, his followers asked them to understand whether a low -carbon or low -fat diet was “better” for strength, physical condition and aesthetics.

To determine the result in the most scientific way possible, sports scientists at Laughborough University were involved who monitored the duo. The 12 -week program saw Ross take a strict carbohydrate diet, while Hugo stuck to a fat meter plan.

Before the experiment, both balanced carbohydrates and fats in their diets, and for the real business, ate around 3,500 calories every day, 2,500 of three meals and two snacks of a food delivery service called Frive. There was only a difference of 500 calories between the assignment of the twins, with Hugo eating 500 calories of Fat and Ross obtaining their final calories on the board through carbohydrates.

Hugo’s low carbohydrate diet included high -fat foods such as olive oil, butter, nuts, eggs and avocado, while Ross’s “balanced” food plan had high foods in carbohydrates, such as paste and rice, while avoiding the High Foods in Fats.

Study findings

The results of the study published last month showed that Hugo’s force increased by 59 percent thanks to the fat -rich diet, while Ross increased by 56 percent. In addition, Hugo won 3 kg of muscle compared to 1 kg won by his brother, Ross.

Despite gaining more strength and mass, Hugo told Business Insider that he worked “worse and felt more fatigued during intense exercise.”

“I never felt good. I was eating at least six times a day and I never felt full or satisfied, therefore, I was constantly hungry. But equally, I didn’t have the accidents that I would probably associate with a diet of greater carbohydrates,” Hugo said .

Meanwhile, Ross in his high diet in carbohydrates lost a little more fat, but worked better in cardiovascular tests. According to the investigation, fat contains nine calories per gram, while carbohydrates (and proteins) contain four. Therefore, you can eat more carbohydrates for the same number of calories than a smaller portion of fat -rich foods.

According to the results of the study, the Turners said that although a balance of protein, carbohydrates and fats for daily activities was required, adjust the diets before the particular expeditions in the future could also be beneficial.

The brothers cited that increasing carbohydrates before high intensity activities that increase heart rate, such as cycling, race or comet skiing, they must work well, while a higher fat diet can work while progressing or something Slower.
