**The Court’s Verdict: A Balancing Act for the Rally and the Exams**

Amidst the echo of Madhyamik Pariksha exams, the Calcutta High Court stood as an arbiter, weighing the need for a prominent rally against the potential disruption to students’ concentration.

On February 14th, 2025, the court’s decision reverberated through the halls of justice and the streets of Burdwan. The RSS, the organizers of an imminent rally, had appealed to the court after the State police refused permission, citing concerns about the use of loudspeakers during exam hours.

Justice Amrita Sinha, presiding over the case, deftly navigated the competing interests. She granted conditional approval to the rally, mandating that the organizers meticulously control crowd size and sound levels.

The court’s decision acknowledged the organizers’ assertion that the rally venue was sufficiently distant from any examination centers. However, Justice Sinha noted the absence of scheduled exams on the designated rally day, Sunday.

This judicial dance, balancing the freedom of assembly with the sanctity of education, demonstrated the court’s commitment to ensuring a harmonious society. It set a precedent for future dialogue, allowing for the expression of political opinion while safeguarding the crucial learning environment for students.
