The Mahalakshmi design police received a notice on January 25, 2025, which a group of people fought with each other in a tea post when sharing money. The police hurried to the place and rounded the six people. They also recovered a car and ₹ 43.7 Lakh in cash.
During their sustained interrogation, they allegedly confessed to having been stealing money from the ATM kiosks and were fighting among them to share the loot.
Those arrested have been identified as Sameer (26), who work as a hunting officer, Monohar (29), Girish (26) and Jaggesh (28), who work as cash loaders, driver of Shivu goods vehicles, all residents of Nandini. Jaswanth (27), an ATM technician and Laggere resident.
The six defendants worked with companies that had the task of filling cash in ATMs or ATMs or repair ATMs. The police said that while filling ATMs, they would cheat the money filling the machines with less amount of what was in the registry. Meanwhile, those whom they had the task of repairing ATMs would access the passwords of these machines, would open them and steal money, police said. However, the scam of money had been happening for several months and had not reached the notification of the banks, police sources said.
The police arrested them and based on the information revealed by them during the interrogation with custody, the police recovered ₹ 8 additional Lakh from Jaswanth’s house in Chowdeshwari Nagar, Laggere, as well as two high -end cars that two other defendants bought With your part of stolen money. The total value of recovered value objects amounts to ₹ 90 Lakh.
