Jasprit Bumrah has been discarded from the Champions Trophy 2025, a BCCI released confirmed Tuesday night. The BCCI said the bowling player did not recover from an injury in the lower back he suffered during the final test of India vs Australia in Sydney. According to a report by the PTI news agency that occurred just before the official announcement, the Sports and Medical Sciences team of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru had left it in the Selection Committee led by Ajit Agarkar to decide on the National Team by Jasprit Bumrah for the champions trophy.
The report says: “There are two physical aptitude parameters that the NCA verifies before eliminating the return of a player to action. It is understood that Bumrah completed his rehabilitation for his lower back injury under the strength and conditioning coach Rajnikanth and Physio Thulasi, was medically declared.
