Youtuber and IT coach David Bombal recently conducted an extensive test to determine whether the Chinese artificial intelligence company Deepseek is deceiving its consumers regarding data protection or not. He used an Ethernet cable to connect his Android phone to the Internet and a telephone listening to capture traffic to test this. David monitored the data sent from their device using Wireshark, an application that allows users to monitor network traffic.
During the test, he discovered some very alarming facts related to the privacy of the data. Wireshark showed that 51 packages were being transferred to Beijing, despite Deepseek’s statements that it does not transmit data to China. The subsequent analysis revealed that Alibaba Cloud was also used to travel the data, which raised significant concerns about the company’s data management practices.
In the video, David clarified that Deepseek’s statements regarding his privacy policy are clearly disagreeing with this revelation.
