The police superintendent (SP) V. Vidyasagar Naidu issued on Wednesday a public advice that urges the residents of the Annamayya district to remain attentive in social networks and inform any illegal activity to the police immediately.

He announced the launch of a WhatsApp channel to keep citizens informed about key security concerns, including social networks awareness, road safety, women’s safety, children’s marriages, drug abuse, bets of Cricket, the cybercrime and white -collar crimes.

The SP requested the responsible use of social networks, advising against personal information, participating with unknown individuals or disseminating erroneous information. In road safety, he urged people to follow traffic rules, use helmets and safety belts, and avoid using mobile phones while driving.

Regarding the safety of women, he encouraged caution while traveling, avoided suspicious people and contacting the police in case of emergencies. He also highlighted the illegality of children’s marriages, urging people to inform such incidents to the authorities.

On abuse and drug bets, the SP warned that narcotics was harmful and illegal, urging residents to inform activities related to drugs. He also warned against Cricket’s bets.

The SP emphasized the importance of cybersecurity, advising people who protect personal information online, avoid clicking suspicious links and safeguard financial details. He assured that the Police Department was committed to maintaining the law and order and will remain accessible to the public.

He asked the public, particularly students and teachers, to join the Annamayya WhatsApp Police channel – https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VB1yozj65YDLKFYRDH1U for real -time updates. The district police will continue to carry out awareness programs to reduce crime and guarantee public safety, he added.
