An important part of the Peripheral Ring of Chennai (CPRR) is expected to run from the port of Ennore to Ponajeri, near Mamallapuram, is completed at the end of 2025. The stretch of 30.8 km from Tiruvallur bypass to Srperumbudur.

One of the contractors in the final stretch, L&T, who began work in August 2021, has completed 79% and attaches to the schedule to finish its part of the six -lane highway. The other company, SPK LTD, is also updating and has completed around 50%.

Section 4 of Srperumbudur to SingaPerumalkoil has already been completed. “As part of the project proposal, we have to provide two -lane service lanes for the entire road length for use by local traffic. This must be built in this section and the acquisition of land for this is underway. Since the lands belonging to a reserved forest fall into alignment, the proposal to exchange the earth is being processed, ”explained an official.

As for section 5 of 27.41 km long from Singumalkoil to Mamallapuram, land acquisition is in an advanced stage. This stretch is the last to start since the financial tied took time. Tenders must be floated for this section soon. Previously, it had been proposed to maintain this section as a four -lane installation. However, it has now been updated to the six -lane width. Section 1 of the port of Ennore to the straw, which has 12 tanks and heavy energy transmission lines to change, will take to complete. Due to the nature of stretching.

The peripheral road at the end will be the first access control of the city department of the city. It will connect NH 5 (Chennai – Tada), NH4 (Chennai – Bengaluru) and NH 45 (Chennai – Tuchi) and the East Coast Road.
