Game portable computers are a ten cents in these days, and everyone tries to bring something unique to the table. The new Acer Predator Helios Neo 16, although it is a bite, offers more than just games performance. The AI is all the buzz at this time, and most manufacturers are trying to join the car by slapping ‘AI’ next to the name of the product. While Acer has not done it with its last laptop Predator Helios Neo 16, it has a dedicated Microsoft co-filter key and can run several software accelerated by AI-AI.
I used the predator Helios Neo 16 as my daily work computer/game laptop for a couple of days to see how it worked in several tasks and to find out if it was worth the RS. 1,74,999 Price Tag. Keep reading to find out.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 Design: It looks like the part
- RGB logo on the lid
- Weighs 2.8 kg
- Color – Black Abisal
The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 seems most of the other portable game computers, while offering some unique design elements. The lid is made of aluminum and has a single -color RGB logo along with some laser encrypted codes in the corners. These codes basically reveal that they are nothing more than ‘Helios Neo’ and ‘join Predator Force’. You will find instructions on how to decipher online codes.
On the back, you will find a bump that has a transparent upper part and some design elements below, together with the world’s neo 16 helios. The sides also have many port options. On the left, you will find an RJ-45 Ethernet port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 type A connector, a microSD card reader and a 3.5 mm combined audio connector.
The right side houses two USB Type A ports (one with peaceful load support), a Kensington lock slot and energy and battery indicators. You will also find ports on the back. There is an HDMI 2.1 slot, a power connector and the USB Dual Ports type C Thunderbolt 4. The intakes are in the back, while the exhaust vents are located on the left and right sides.
Open the lid is with one hand, and you will be received by a full -size keyboard and a large enough trackpad. There is also a mode key on the upper left side of the keyboard that allows you to quickly change performance modes. He obtains three microphones on the laptop and a webcam placed in the upper bezel.
However, the laptop is large and heavy, especially if the 330W charger takes into account.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 Screen: Bright and Vivid
- 16 -inch IPS WQXGA screen
- 240Hz update rate
- 500 Nits shine
You will find a matte screen in the predator Helios Neo 16 that is a pleasure to see. The 16 -inch panel has thin bezels on both sides and has an appearance ratio of 16:10. It supports HDR mode and covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color range. The 240Hz update rate and NVIDIA G-SYNC support are useful when they play. The panel offers vivid colors with good contrast. With HDR enabled, you will find that the compatible content will seem brighter with a better dynamic range. Seeing movies and television programs on the screen was a cheerful experience.
The screen also offers a high response rate of up to 3 ms, which is particularly useful when playing shooting games.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 keyboard, touch panel, speakers and webcam
- Dual speakers with DTS: x ultra support
- 4 zones full -size RGB keyboard
- 720p webcam
Acer has covered a full -size keyboard on the laptop, which, although it offers a good keyboard, is not very comfortable since there is not much gap between the keys. I found myself accidentally pressing the incorrect key on multiple occasions, even after spending a lot of time using the keyboard. It obtains RGB customization of 4 areas on the keyboard with four levels of backhoration. The background light becomes quite bright at night, and you have many lighting effects to play. The keyboard obtains a dedicated co -pilot key and a key to start the Acer Predatorsense software.
Going to the touch panel, you get a large surface that supports multitactile gestures. I found that the click is necessary while it was soft.
Next, the speakers. Get dual speakers on the laptop that are placed at the bottom of each side. The speakers admit dts: x ultra; While you get an immersive experience, there is no low or volume. The speakers are one of the weakest characteristics of the predator Helios Neo 16.
He obtains an HD webcam on the laptop, compatible with 3 microphones for a better voice recording. Although Acer states that the camera admits a 1080p resolution, I could only make it work at a resolution of 720p. The clarity of the camera is nothing great. There is a lot of grain, especially with little light.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 Software: Simple to use
- Windows Home 11
- Acer Predatorsense 5.0
- AI characteristics
The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 executes Windows 11 at home home, and also obtains tools from Microsoft Office and co -ilot support. You also get Voice 2.0 purified, which claims to use AI to reduce noise. You can also use the Copilot key to ask all kinds of consultations and also create images.
In addition to the characteristics and co -senses driven by AI, there are a couple of Acer tools. The most important and useful is the Acer Predator Sense 5.0, which allows you to change power modes, customize laptop lighting and control other aspects. It obtains four performance modes, a lot of lighting controls, audio configurations and other systems management controls.
It also obtains other Acer tools, such as Quickpanel, which provides a floating panel with rapid system alternate.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 Performance: Fast and Furious
- 14th Gen Intel Core I9 14900HX CPU
- UP TO 32 GB DDR5 RAM
- Up to 2 TB of storage
- NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4070 with 8GB VRM
Our review unit came with the 14th Intel Core I9 14900HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU chipset with 8GB VRM, but it only has 16 GB of DDR5 memory and 1 TB storage. Even so, the laptop offered rapid performance in performance and turbo modes. The only bottleneck for me was the RAM, which caused a delay when executing multiple tabs in Chrome along with a lot of other applications. Fortunately, you can update the RAM to up to 32 GB, which should be enough.
We execute some synthetic reference points in the turbo performance profile, and the results are below.
Benchmark | Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 |
---|---|
Geekbench 6 CPU Single | 2,924 |
Geekbench 6 CPU Multi | 13,678 |
Geekbench 6 GPU Score | 1,18,700 |
PCMARK 10 | 9,030 |
3DMark Steel Nomad | 2,833 |
3DMark Time Spy | 12,848 |
Cinebench R23 CPU Multi | 26,950 |
Cinebench R23 CPU Single | 2,154 |
Geekbench ML CPU | 4.103 |
GPU GEEKBENCH ML | 13,853 |
In Turbo mode, the NVIDIA GPU gives up to 140 W of TGP, which is a lot of power to execute all kinds of AAA games. Upon reaching the games, the Predator Helios Neo 16 offers an excellent experience with a high frame speed while managing heat well. I ran a pair of games on the laptop to test their performance.
Game | Graphic configuration | Table speed |
---|---|---|
Hogwarts legacy | Ultra | 100 – 120 |
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor | Epic | 45 – 55 |
Forza Horizon 4 | Ultra | 150 – 160 |
As you can see in the previous tests, the laptop works very well in all types of synthetic games and reference points. In most scenarios, you will not face any type of delay or stuttering.
In terms of cooling performance, the laptop has dual fans that move away the heat of the user. However, I noticed that the area around the arrow keys is heated a bit during heavy use. He will not prevent him from using the laptop, but his palm can sweat after a couple of hours.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 drums: approximately average
- 90 WHO
- 330W power adapter
- Fast charging support
Acer’s predator Helios Neo 16 did a decent job when it comes to battery performance. In the quiet yield profile, the laptop lasted approximately 3 hours with a brightness established at 50 percent, and all RGB lights off. This will last approximately 2 hours, with 80 percent brightness and all RGB lights on. If you change the performance mode, the laptop will last approximately one hour and a half with games. The load is fast, and it takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to load 10 percent to 100 percent.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 verdict
For RS. 1,74,999, there are not many laptops with the same specifications. If you want something with the same hardware, you can opt for the ASUS ROG Strix G16, which costs considerably more. You can also opt for the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, which again has a higher price than the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16. Although there are many laptops of games available with the GPU NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4070, they do not offer functions as a 240Hz screen , 14th Intel Core i9 chipset, and a high TGP.
The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 is an excellent laptop for games, especially if you can get it at a discount rate. Several online resellers in India already offer up to rs. 10,000 price cuts on the laptop, and you can expect the price to decrease even more during sales. The laptop offers an excellent screen and top -level games performance and even has a dedicated co -pilot key. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to buy a powerful laptop of games under RS. 2,00,000.
