Ab de Villiers, one of the best Crickt players of his time, is a name that terrified the bowling players of the opponent teams, regardless of the format. Even after his international retirement, De Villiers played some extravagant blows in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). However, the former South Africa star withdrew from professional Cricket without winning a single IPL title. In today’s era, Villiers’s style is often compared to the T20i captain of India, Suryakumar Yadav. During one of those discussions, the former batter of India Sanjay Manjrekar made a bold comment about the De Villiers’ career.
Manjrekar, who knows that he is quite overwhelming with his opinions and criticism, said Suryumumar has already eclipsed De Villiers when it comes to the comparison of his winning impacts of the party in the shortest format. Manjrekar, making a fairly bold evaluation, emphasized that De Villiers played for the wrong IPL franchise.
“I will say yes, due to the winning impact of the game. AB was incredible. But the greatness of AB was that he averaged 50 in tests. Even in one day (ODI). Then, he is an incredible player. But only if you look at T20 Cricket ;
During his IPL career, in which De Villiers played for two franchises, Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he scored a total of 5162 races, of which 4491 came for RCB. He also scored two centuries and 37 years fifty for Bengaluru’s side.
De Villiers is also one of the only seven players to score more than 5000 races in the T20 League.
