Swiggy, the famous delivery application and the convenience platform on demand, recently highlighted trends related to pizza consumption in India during the past year. On the occasion of World Pizza Day (observed annually on February 9), Swiggy shared ideas based on its internal data. From February 9, 2024 to February 9, 2025, he registered orders for an amazing 34 million pizzas in the country. The company also revealed that more than 1.35 Lakh of Pizzas were ordered in only 24 hours on February 9, 2025.
Wondering what cities more pizza consumed? Swiggy declared: “Throughout the year, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad emerged as the best pizza centers in India, each competing for first position.” He also mentioned that Bangalore and Mumbai registered more than 3 million orders each in the last year. In terms of pizza varieties, Margherita Pizza was the most popular. Swiggy registered more than 1 million orders of them in the last year. The company also said that this particular pizza headed the lists of all cities.

In terms of accompaniments, garlic breads, cursis sauces and cooks were the most popular options. As for the most favorite Pizza brand, Swiggy said Domino’s Pizza received more than 2.7 million orders from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The company also highlighted two specific pizza orders for different reasons. First, a Swiggy user in Mumbai ordered 200 pizzas (in a single order) by RS 45000 one day in 2024. It included 20 Margherita pizzas, 20 pizzas of Mexican green wave Garlic bread spots and 30 cheesy splashes. A user in Barakar (Western Bengala) also managed to obtain a onion paneer pizza delivered in just 3.4 minutes, according to Swiggy.
Before this, Swiggy’s end of the year for 2024 was news for several reasons. One of his revelations was that he had registered more than 83 million Biryani orders in that year.
