Mumbai Indians’ Corbin Bosch has been served with a legal notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the South African cricketer is alleged to have breached a Pakistan Super League (PSL) contract.
The 30-year-old all-rounder, was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category in Lahore on January 13 for the upcoming edition of the PSL, which starts in April. But Corbin Bosch withdrew from PSL to make himself available for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
“The legal notice was served through his agent, and the player has been asked to justify his actions of withdrawing from his professional and contractual commitments,” PCB said in a statement.
“The PCB management has also outlined the repercussions of his departure from the league and expects his response within the stipulated time frame. The PCB will not make any further comments on the matter,” it added.
Corbin Bosch replaced Lizaad Williams at MI
Earlier, Corbin Bosch was roped in as a replacement by Mumbai Indians for injured Lizaad Williams, who has been ruled out of the 18th edition of the cash-rich league.
Although Corbin Bosch is yet to make his IPL debut, he was a part of the Rajasthan Royals setup before as a reserve player. Another reason for Corbin Bosch’s call-up at Mumbai Indians was the fact that he was a part of MI Cape Town that won the SA20 earlier this year.
At SA20, Corbin Bosch took 11 wickets in seven innings and was to reunite with teammate Ryan Rickelton at Mumbai Indians. But with a legal notice being served, it will be up to the MI management, the BCCI and the IPL governing council to resolve the issue for Corbin Bosch.
Notably, the dates of IPL 2025 and PSL 2025 are set to clash. While the IPL 2025 starts on March 22 and run till May 25, the PSL 2025 will start on April 11, will the final set to be played on May 25.
