Can the curd help reduce acidity?

Many believe that the curd can help relieve acid reflux symptoms, but it could actually do the opposite. According to Ayurvedic health coach, Dimple Jangda, Yogurt or Cuajada is considered one of the heaviest foods in Ayurveda. Its sour and fermented nature can react with body heat and worsen acid reflux. Eating curd while experimenting acidity can increase body temperature and increase fermentation in the intestine, leading to more discomfort. Instead of providing relief, the curd could worsen acidity.

What to do in place?

If you trust the curd but still experience acidity, Jangda recommends changing to milk serum (chaas). Milk serum is lighter, has cooling properties and can help calm the digestive system while reducing discomfort.
