Realme has updated its numerical series for the second time this year. The company first presented the Realme 12 Pro series in India in January and now, it is back with the improved alignment that includes the new Realme 13 Pro 5G and Realme 13 Pro+ 5G. The last telephone of the Chinese brand brings a renewed design language along with some updated cameras and useful functions of AI. Although the pro+ variant offers characteristics of the series series, the Realme 13 Pro also has a lot in its arsenal. With an initial price of RS 26,999, the Realme 13 pro surely seems to be an interesting option. After using the device for a short time, this is what you need to know.
Starting with its design, the Realme 13 Pro borrowed some design elements of its predecessor, the Realme 12 Pro 5g (review). He obtains the same big camera module in the rear panel with the striated bevel design, although it is slightly different from Realme 12 Pro. This rear panel now comes with a new design inspired by Monet, which is a tribute to the famous French painter Claude Monet .
The Realme 13 Pro 5G is loaded with a texture finish inspired by Monet in the rear panel.
The phone is available in three color options, including Monet Purple, Monet Gold and Emerald Green. The first color option offers a different texture, while the green color option offers a vegan leather finish. I received the Monet Gold del Realme 13 Pro variant, and the rear panel certainly stands out, especially when the light hits it at angle.
The texture is quite interesting since it is a mixture of effects of light and shadow, which is found in Monet’s work. The front panel offers an OLED curve screen with a selfie shooter aligned in the center. The right side of the device presents volume controls and an ignition/off button, while the lower part packs a SIM slot, a USB type C port and speaker grills. Interestingly, the phone also has a classification of IP65 powder and water resistance together with the 5 -star 5 -star SGS PREMIUM SGS SGS SGS SGS RESISTANCE Classification, which means that it can support splashes and drops.
The Realme 13 Pro 5G presents a 120Hz OLED screen.
Upon reaching the screen, Realme 13 Pro 5G presents an OLED Full HD+ 6.7 inches. The screen has an 120Hz update speed and a maximum 240Hz tactile sampling speed. Realme affirms a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits, 100 percent of DCI-P3 color range, so this screen is also certified Pro-XDR. During my short time with this device, its screen surely seemed promising and is brilliant in interior and exterior lighting conditions.
The main USP of the Realme 13 Pro 5G is its new AI photography architecture, known as Hyperimage+ Camera System, which the company states that it is an industry first. The phone has a double camera configuration in the rear panel that has a Sony Lyt-600 primary camera of 50 megapixels with an opening F/1.88 and an optical image stabilization (OIS). The second camera is a wide 8 megapixel with an opening F/2.2.
The phone offers useful functions to improve the photos and videos taken from the device.
This is where things get interesting. Realme’s last phone is charged with a large number of AI features. There is a new AI Hyperraw algorithm that restores light and shadows in an image to its optimal condition. The portrait algorithm identifies the foreground, the background in the middle and the background of the image to give a natural bokeh effect.
Then it has the AI Ultra Clarity mode that allows you to improve the resolution and increase the clarity of the blurred photos. In addition to this, the brand has also introduced AI Group Photo Mechance, AI Smart Remocal, AI Audio Zoom and more to improve the general experience of the user in the camera section.
The Realme 13 Pro 5G is loaded with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 Soc.
In terms of performance, Realme 13 Pro 5G is loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which is based on a 4NM process. The phone is available with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. It is executed in Realme UI 5.0, which is based on Android 14. He packs a 5,200 mAh battery and admits a 45W wired load.
Although it is too early to comment on the device performance, during a brief trial period, performance seems to be fluid. However, there is still a remarkable amount of Bloatware present in the Realme User Interface, especially in hot applications and games, which is a decisive factor for me. That said, we will talk about that in depth in the next review.
