Expressing shock by two incidents reported against women, all India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Aiadmk Secretary General Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday (February 7, 2025) insisted on the government of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam DMK to guarantee the safety of women. While a police sub-inspective woman was allegedly attacked inside a police station in the Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu, a pregnant woman was allegedly expelled from a coimbatore-tirupati train.

Referring to the reports on the incident in the Sivaganga district, Mr. Palaniswami criticized the DMK government about the state of the things of the law and order in the state and also said that such an incident indicated that there was a lack of security even in a Police station. He insisted that the DMK government initiate a strict action against people behind offenses against women.
In another incident, in which a pregnant woman was supposedly expelled from a coimbatore-tirupati train, Mr. Palaniswami expressed her shock. “Women are not safe on the roads in Tamil Nadu. They could not go to schools, universities and offices. Now, it is a shame that they cannot travel safely even in the trains, ”said the former prime minister.
“According to the DMK government, such incidents were recurring just because the special approach was not granted to women’s safety,” he accused. Mr. Palaniswami insisted that those involved in the crime be taken to the book and were given strict punishment.
