The president of the League, Javier Tebas, said that the Spanish champions of Thursday Real Madrid were playing the victim and “lost their heads” after they attacked the referees in the country. The whites were defeated 1-0 in the Espanyol of descent bombings on Saturday and subsequently sent a furious letter to the Spanish Football Federation that criticizes the referee of the country as “manipulated” and “completely discredited”. The League leaders, Madrid, were upset to the Espanyol defender, Carlos Romero, avoided a red card to hack the striker Kylian Mbappe and passed the winning goal.
“Real Madrid wants to damage the competition (the league), not only the group of referees,” Thebes told journalists.
“They have built a victimization story and I think the cherry at the top was the letter they published the other day …
“The problem has been disproportionate, they have lost their heads.”
Thebes was talking after attending a meeting with the Clubs of the League, the Spanish Federation (RFEF) and representatives of the Spanish Referees Committee (CTA).
The Spanish media said that Real Madrid refused to attend the meeting, which was held to discuss improvements in football in the country.
The president of CTA, Luis Medina Cantalejo, suggested, among other measures, “the audio recordings of VAR reviews will be broadcast live, provided that FIFA authorizes it,” said the Federation in a statement.
The head of RFEF, Rafael Lozan, whose appeal against a seven -year prohibition of occupying a public office was confirmed on early Thursday, praised the meeting as the beginning of a new era.
“That this is the beginning of a new and different era, we have the opportunity to create it together,” Louzan said.
