Anantapur district police decided to attack social networks influencers to raise awareness among people on cyber crimes, road safety and the harmful effects of drug use.
Police Superintendent (SP) P. Jagadesh celebrated a meeting with social networks influencers on Thursday and asked them to take leadership in the creation of awareness on three issues: cyber crimes, road safety and drug abuse. Jagadesh said the Police Department has been making efforts to reduce traffic accidents, prevent cybercrime and drug abuse, and has decided to use social networks as a platform to complement their efforts.
The SP said that social networks play an important role in the influence of society and that it could be used as a tool to reach people. “Some people have won many fans with their innovative videos. Such youtubers must find innovative reels, publications and videos of road safety, cyber crimes and drug abuse as part of social responsibility, “he said.
Jagadesh said that crime analysis in the last three years showed that victims have lost more money in cyber fraud than in robberies. “Cyber crimes are increasing due to lack of awareness. Social networks influencers must make positions or reels educating people about digital unemployment, messaging scams, credit card fraud and others, ”he said.
Almost 150 influential people in social networks participated in the program.
