The Nandyal district administration is adopting a two -pointed strategy to control drug threat. While intensifying the repression of illegal culture and the transport of Ganja, the administration focuses on raising awareness among students on the harmful effects of drugs. The administration is involving all departments in their efforts to stop the ganja threat. The officials of the Department of Agriculture were asked to maintain an account about the cultivation of Ganja in Mulberry, Chilli and other crops.

In the recent meeting of the District District Committee, the Rajakumari Gania district collector has asked officials to carry out extensive awareness programs to raise awareness among young people and students on the effects of drugs. It was decided to carry out an awareness campaign in the 1,957 schools, 49 universities and 196 government and non -governmental educational institutions in the district. The staff of these educational institutions must also participate in the creation of consciousness.

The district collector has also asked the Superintendent and doctors from the General Hospital of the Nandyal Government to take measures to begin an addiction center in the hospital. Similarly, the drug control administration was asked to maintain a tab in the 800 ODD medical stores in the district and abstracts sedatives and sleeping pills without recipe.

As people from other states work in the district factories, the administration wanted worried officials to take measures so that these workers do not bring ganja to the factory facilities. Administrations would be asked to maintain a tab on ganja consumption by workers in the factory facilities.

The officials of the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture were asked to control the possibility of growing Ganja in the middle of Mulberry, Mirchi, Chrysanthemum and other crops.

As Mahasivratri will be held on a large scale in the temples of Siva in the district, the officials of the endowment department have been asked to take measures to ensure that the Sadhus do not consume Ganja and other narcotics. As there are 24 tourist places and there is the possibility that tourists pass contraband in Ganja and other narcotics, the district collector asked officials to take appropriate measures to avoid any smuggling of smuggling to these places.

Increase vigil at borders

The district has a hectare of 3.60 LAKH of forest lands and shares the border with the districts of Nagarkurnool and Gadwal in the neighboring districts of Telangana and also Prakasam, Kadapa, Kurnol and Kadap The district is not contramisted. As there are eight national roads that pass through the district, there is the possibility of smuggling narcotics in the district and interested officials were asked to maintain an alert.

The collector also asked officials of all residential bc, SC, tribal and minority welfare shelters to ensure that children are not exposed to drugs.
