The Maoists on Sunday (February 2, 2025) killed a 45 -year -old man in the Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra while claiming that he was an informant of the police, authorities said.
The incident took place in Kiyer Bajo Tehsil village in southern Gadchiroli in the early hours of Sunday (February 2, 2025), they said.
According to preliminary information, the Maoists strangled an “innocent civilian” to death, identified as Sukhram Madavi, resident of Kiyer Village, said a senior police officer.
In a brochure found near the body, the Maoists falsely said that the man was a police informant and had helped the police to open new camps, even in the district’s peguda area, he said.
This is the first civil murder executed by Maoist here this year, said the official.
An investigation was conducted on the incident, police said.
