Usman Khawaja recorded his name along with the legendary Donald Bradman by becoming only the second Australian older than 38 years to obtain a double century test. The Australian opener Khawaja hit his double one hundred in the trial cricket on day two of the first test against Sri Lanka in Galle on Thursday. Khawaja is also the only Australian man who reached a double century in Sri Lanka. He had previously surpassed Justin Langer in Colombo in 2004 as the highest score of an Australian in Sri Lanka. In addition, he became the first Australian to obtain a double ton in Asia from the famous 201 Jason Gillespie not against Bangladesh in 2006.
The others who obtain a double ton in the tests are Matthew Hayden (201 were not vs. India in Chennai), Dean Jones (210 vs India in the tied Madras test of 1986), Greg Chappell (235 V Pakistan in Faisalabad in 1980 and Mark Taylor (334 against Pakistan in Peshawar in 1998).
Australia is currently hitting 482/3 with Khawaja (208*) and the debutant Josh Inglis (47*) undefeated in the middle.
Australia resumed in 330/2 with a game from 15 minutes before the rain ended prematurely. Khawaja and Captain Steve Smith continued from where they left the night before, combining for a 266 racing position for the third Wickt, the highest test association in Australia in Sri Lanka.
The visitors spent a 400 -racing mark with a overthrow of a lost opportunity at the end of the non -front, which would have seen Khawaj LBW’s cry against Smith, caught in the pads for 141.
