The Mumbai Police held a press conference on the stabbing case of Saif Ali Khan on Tuesday. ADDITIONAL CP Paramjit Singh Dahiya and DCP Dixit Gedam said the investigation of the defendant Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, arrested by DCP Zone 9 has been carried out in the right way and that the investigation is in the right direction. He also added that sufficient evidence has been found against the defendant. They also said that the defendant had stayed in many places in Kolkata and that the matter is being investigated. However, the digital footprints report is expected.
This is what DCP Dixit Gedam said
‘Regarding digital footprints, let me clarify the confusion! No digital footprints report has not arrived. Regarding the defendant’s father, what the defendant’s father says, we cannot talk about this. But I will say this, the defendant who has been arrested and there is ample evidence against him, ” DCP said Tuesday.
When asked about other defendants involved in the case of stabbing of Saif Ali Khan, Dixit Gedam said there is no other accused, but those who came into contact with him are being questioned. In the matter of recognition of the face, the Mumbai police said they have the option and that they are exploring it. “There are options regarding facial recognition, this is part of the investigation,” he added.
Who filed the complaint?
The additional CP Paramjit Singh Dahiya and DCP Dixit Gedam said Saif Ali Khan had arrived at the hospital at 2:40 on January 16 as recorded in CCTV. When asked about who filed the police complaint, they said that the family or SAIF did not inform the police first, but the hospital did. For the not versed, Saif was admitted to the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai, where he underwent multiple surgeries and was discharged on January 22 after being admitted there for six days.
