The president of the United States, Donald Trump, once again hinted at the idea of fulfilling a third mandate, saying that “he was not 100 percent sure” that forbade him to do so under the Constitution, which prohibits him.
Trump has repeatedly alluded to the possibility that he can go beyond the current limit of two periods for US presidents, but although he often has a cheerful tone, comments remain provocative.
“I have raised a lot of the Congress in Miami.
For laughter, Trump turned to the Republican leader of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, and added: “I’m not sure, is I allowed to run again? Mike? I better not involve you in that discussion.”
Trump was inaugurated by his second spell in the White House a week ago, becoming the second president in the history of the United States to serve two non -consecutive terms.
The US presidents are limited to two terms in the position for amendment 22 to the Constitution, which was ratified in 1951, partly as an answer to the four unprecedented terms of Franklin D. Roosevelt as president of 1933-1945.
A Republican in the United States Chamber introduced a super long shot resolution last week to change the Constitution to allow Trump to obtain another term.
Trump alluded to extend his stay several times and joked recently on Saturday, during a demonstration in Nevada.
“It will be the greatest honor that my life serves once, but twice, or three times or four times,” he said with a smile, before adding audience cheers: “holders of the false news.”
In November, in another speech for the Republicans of the House of Representatives shortly after their electoral victory, Trump said: “I suspect that I will not run again unless you say: ‘It’s good, we have to solve something more.”
Trump told a conservative Christian audience in July: “Christians, leave and vote. Only this time … four more years, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you will not have to vote more.”
