Two militants were arrested in separate operations in the Thoubbal and Imphal West districts in Manipur, police said Tuesday (January 28, 2025).
A member of the Communist Party of Kangleipak (Taibanganganba) was arrested from Waithou-Thiyam IVR in Thoubbal on Monday (January 27, 2025), they said.
“It was identified as Sapam Paikhomba Meitei (26),” they added.
“A wireless phone and six 9 mm live rounds were seized from it,” police said.
“A 32 -year -old member of the 32 -year -old KCP (MFL) was arrested from Thongju Pechulampak Pukhri in the Imphal West district. He was identified as Samom Davidson Meitei, aka Loya, “they said.
“He was accused of extorting the owners of stores located in the Singjame-Thongju area,” the police added.
