The Minister of State for the Union for Rural Development and Communications, Pemmassani Chandra Sekhar, announced a comprehensive plan to complete key bridge projects in the Guntur district in three and a half years.

In a statement here on Tuesday (January 28, 2025), he described a gradual approach to approval and bridge construction, with an focus on timely execution.

Mr. Chandra Sekhar revealed that the central government has sanctioned ₹ 41 million rupees for the construction of a bridge in Pedapalakalu Lc No. 6, part of the Nallapadu-Pedapalakalu-Pericherla section. The approval of this long -awaited project is considered a milestone in Guntur’s urban development plans.

Highlighting other projects, the minister declared that Shankar Vilas Rob and the Outer Ring Road Rob have also been approved with central funds. “There will be no financial burden for the state government, since these projects are fully financed by the central government,” he said.

The minister emphasized the benefits that these bridges would contribute to agriculture, travelers and connectivity in Guntur. He mentioned that these projects would improve the trips between key areas such as Sattenapalli, Narasaraopet, Macherla and Hyderabad, improving the general infrastructure of the region and the impulse of local trade.

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Vice President CM Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh and Railroad Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Mr. Chandra Sekhar reaffirmed her commitment to serve the parliamentary constituency of Guntur and the people of Andra Pradesh.

The bridges, he said, are a compliance with a dream of three decades of Guntur’s residents.
