In a tragic incident, five members of a family, including three children, lost their lives in an accident in the Yadgir district of Karnataka on Wednesday. The accident occurred near the Tinthani arch within the jurisdiction of the Surapura Police Station.

The deceased have been identified as Anjaneya, 35, his wife Gangamma, 28, his children, Pavithra, five years old and Rayappa, and the nephew of Anjaneya, Hanumantha of a year.

According to police reports, the incident took place while the five were traveling on a bicycle from Surapura to Tinthani. A bus that belongs to the Kalyan Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKSRTC), bewitched on the bicycle from behind after the driver lost control of the vehicle, which led to the tragedy.

As a result of the impact, three people, including the two children, died in the place, while the other two succumbed to their wounds on the way to the hospital. The bicycle was completely shattered due to the collision. The bus was traveling from Kalaburagi to Chincholi at the time of the accident.

Previously, at least 14 people, including three students, died and another 25 wounds in two separate incidents in the districts of Karwar and Raichur of Karnataka on January 22.

In the first incident, 10 people died in the place and 15 other wounds when a truck transported them and the vegetables overturned on National Highway 63 near the Gullapura Ghatta region in Yellapura Taluk of the Karwar district.

The injured were admitted to the Institute of Medical Sciences of Karnataka (Kims) in Hubballi.

One of the injured told the police that he heard the sound of the tires explode, and immediately afterwards, the truck overturned.

The deceased were residents of the Savanur village in the district of Haveri. All of them were vegetable vendors who traveled weekly to the village market. When the truck overturned, all the vegetables loaded in the vehicle fell on them.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to early fog conditions in the morning, causing the accident.

In another incident the same day, four people, including three students, died in the place after the vehicle in which they were traveling at the Araginamara camp near the city of Sindhanur in the district of Raichur.
