A total of 46 outstanding performers will get 96 gold medals at the 14th Convocation of Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU), which is scheduled to be held on the university’s main campus in Bidar on March 25.
Addressing a media conference at the university on Friday, KVAFSU Vice-Chancellor K.C. Veeranna said that 35 of the 96 gold medals were university medals, and the remaining 61 were sponsored by others. The gold medal winners included undergraduate and postgraduate students, and Ph.D. scholars.
“Governor and Chancellor of the KVAFSU Thaawarchand Gehlot will present the gold medals to the students. A total of 634 students, including 419 undergraduates, 187 postgraduates and 28 PhD students, will get their degrees on the day. However, only 127 of them will be physically present at the event on Tuesday,” Mr. Veeranna said.
Mr. Veeranna added that Naveen Kumar, Director, National Institute of Virology (NIV), one of the major Institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and K. Venkatesh, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Sericulture and pro-Chancellor of KVAFSU, will also participate in the event.
KVAFSU Registrar P.T. Ramesh, Management Board member Basavaraj Bhatmurge and other senior officers were present.
