A slight but rare 3.8-magnitude earthquake hit southern Maine on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, sending tremors as far as Boston.

The earthquake’s epicenter was about 10 miles east of Portsmouth, NH, according to the survey. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Social media users reported feeling at home in Boston, about 60 miles south of the epicenter, and Freeport, Me., about 70 miles north.

This is a developing story.
